Introduction
Welcome
inRESONANCE PORTAL is an open-customizable solution based on FileMaker® Pro software, created specifically for Admission and Enrollment management. It is designed to help you easily access and organize vital information and integrate daily productivity tasks in order to improve your overall efficiency.
The Manual
The manual is composed of the following three parts:
- INTRODUCTION provides an overview of how this manual is structured and suggestions for how to get started.
- PORTAL CONCEPTS provides the “big picture,” with background information and terminology as applied to managing the Admission and Enrollment process. Reading this chapter before you get started will provide you with a framework as you do your job. You may need to refer back to this chapter periodically as you perform your daily tasks.
- USING PORTAL details step-by-step instructions on how to perform specific tasks using PORTAL. You will most likely need to refer to this chapter periodically until you become comfortable using PORTAL.
Throughout this manual, the structure and use of the standard PORTAL default layouts will be described and the process by which data is managed in the system will be detailed. Please note that your screens may vary somewhat from those pictured in this manual due to customization upon installation, or to customization done at a later date.
In the manual there are tips for more efficient use of FileMaker Pro and PORTAL, as well as descriptions of issues that users should be aware of when customizing the solution. This manual is specific to using inRESONANCE PORTAL solution and does not address FileMaker Pro concepts in depth. These concepts are covered extensively in any number of FileMaker Pro reference books.
Please note that inRESONANCE will be referred to as iR throughout this manual.
The example data presented in this manual are fictitious and are provided for purposes of illustration only. No association with any real individual or organization is intended, nor should be inferred. Screen shots were taken on a Macintosh and not a PC, therefore your FileMaker Pro menus may differ from those depicted in this manual if you are on a PC.

Other Resources
We strongly recommend that you have a FileMaker Pro reference available in addition to this manual. As stated previously, this is not a manual on how to use FileMaker Pro. You may find that a good FileMaker Pro reference will help you better understand how PORTAL and FileMaker Pro together manage your data.
There are many good references available. We suggest that you visit the FileMaker website at www.filemaker.com for suggestions.
