Daily Attendance and Section-to-Day Attendance

Daily Attendance is when a student will be absent for the day (code = Absent), or is late to school (Late).

Section Attendance is when a teacher takes the attendance for each student in the class. These attendance records will have codes of Class Absent, Class Late, etc. Typically section attendance is taken for every student in every class throughout the day.

For most schools, Daily Attendance is taken in KEYSTONE by the front office, and Section Attendance is taken in TAM2 by the teachers.

But for some schools, attendance is only taken once per day by each teacher in the morning. This is Section-to-Day Attendance.
If your school has configured one or more divisions for Section-to-Day attendance, the first-period teacher will take section attendance normally in TAM2. As those records are processed into KEYSTONE, a Day Attendance record will be created based on the Section Attendance record.
Section-to-Day attendance is configured at the division level, in KEYSTONE Setup.
