ADVOCATE Access and Logins

The ability to access solution files and enter or edit data is determined by your login.

If you have purchased ADVOCATE Lite, upon installation you will enter your organization name and license code as provided by iR. Once you have registered your solution you will log in to the solution with a user name and password. These are determined upon installation by your solution administrator.

If you have purchased the open version of ADVOCATE, no registration is necessary. Open ADVOCATE users log in to the solution with only a FileMaker Pro password. Passwords are created by the solution administrator and determine what ability and access users have to solution features. Refer to a FileMaker Pro documentation for a greater explanation of how FileMaker Pro handles users and passwords.

To ensure that data are not accidentally edited or deleted, the solution is locked by default. Users must purposely unlock the solution in order to enter or change data. Once data have been entered or edited, it is important to lock the solution again.

Lastly, you want to ensure that your solution is being backed up to a reliable storage device on a regular basis. Refer to the FileMaker Pro User’s Documentation for an explanation of suggested backup strategies.
