Can I assign more than one teacher to a section?
Yes, you can do this in KEYSTONE version 4.3+ using Shadow Teachers. In earlier versions, it is not possible to assign more than one teacher to a section in KEYSTONE without customization.

Can TAM leverage Active Directory or Open Directory authentication the way that KEYSTONE can?
It is possible to leverage Active Directory or Open Directory authentication in TAM, but it requires some fairly tricky scripting. If you are interested in using Active or Open Directory authentication in TAM, contact us for advice or look for a guide to performing this modification here in the future. (top)
How is current enrollment tracked in PORTAL and KEYSTONE?
Enrollment is tracked separately in PORTAL and KEYSTONE in order to accommodate the different needs of the Registrar and the Admission Director. While the Registrar will want to roll the year forward as quickly as possible in order to begin scheduling for the next academic year, the Admissions Director will want to wait until the end of the current admissions season to do so. The only link between PORTAL and KEYSTONE (besides the shared ptFAMILIES file) happens when the green Admit button is pushed in PORTAL. This triggers the creation of a Permanent record and an Enrollment record (with the status New Admit) for the appropriate academic year in KEYSTONE. From this point forward, enrollment is managed separately in the two solutions. (top)
Is there a way to sync data between KEYSTONE and my online parent portal?
Yes, custom functionality can be created to sync your KEYSTONE data and your online parent portal. Contact us with any questions about how this functionality may be created or to request a quote. (top)
I need to schedule a section that meets in more than one room during the week, can KEYSTONE handle this?
KEYSTONE cannot accommodate room rotations during the week without customization. This customization may be as simple as adding a text field to the section record in which notes about class meeting space may be entered and displaying this field on the graphic schedules. It is also possible to make this functionality more complex by adding a series of relationships based on the days in your course weeks and creating overrides for the location by day. Contact us for more assistance or for a quote. (top)
How do I know when to use drop/add and when to use section swap?
You will always want to use Drop/Add to change a student’s schedule when the student is changing from a section of one course to a section of a another course (i.e. an arts elective to a sport, or a creative writing class to a foreign language class).
If the student is simply moving from one section of algebra to another section of algebra (for example, to accommodate changes in another part of the schedule), there is no need to use Drop/Add and create a new Student registration record. Instead, the Section swap feature overrides by term in the Student registration record.
If a student is moving during their first term of enrollment in a section and before any grades or other data have been entered, then drop/add is more appropriate as you will simply remove them from the original section entirely. You may even simply modify the original Student Registration record to reflect the new Course Section Number.
The basic guideline is that you should use Section swap if you need only a single line to appear on transcripts and both sections share the same transcript name and Drop/Add in all other cases. (top)
How do I withdraw a student so that he/she no longer shows up in TAM?
When a student withdraws mid-year, he/she will continue to show up in TAM until he/she has been removed from his/her courses. Use the Midyear Withdrawal screen, accessed from the Enrollment tab of the KEYSTONE main window, to withdraw the student and remove him/her from their courses. (top)
Why is there an extra line appearing in my labels?
This occurs when there is an inclusion of a carriage return after the data in a field. Going back to original data, the return can be located and removed and the label will then be correct.
